Mission Statement

“We learn and pray, in faith and love”

At St Kentigern’s we pride ourselves on being a happy, caring, and welcoming community, where the learning environment and the wide range of opportunities offered, help every child reach their full potential and make the most of the gifts and talents given to them by God.

Our dedicated and committed team of staff and governors work together to make sure that the children in our care are a respected part of our Catholic community, one where they feel valued and secure.

Our mission statement and school scripture embodies our ethos of love and compassion. All children and staff live out the scripture ‘Let all that you do be done in love.’ Corinthians 16:14. Our curriculum allows children the opportunity to fulfil our mission statement and put it into action.

At the beginning of each academic year, our children spend time unpicking our mission statement and school scripture. They reflect on what these words mean to them personally and consider how they are lived out each day in our school community.

Each class explores the statement in depth, producing work and sharing ideas about how we can live out our mission through our actions, relationships, and choices. These reflections are displayed at the front of every child’s RE book at the start of the new school year, serving as a constant reminder of the values we are called to live by.

In this way, our mission is not just something we say — it is something we live.

We strive to thread faith and love through everything we do within our school family, guiding and supporting one another in both our learning and our spiritual journey.
