Pupil Leadership
Mini Vinnies
Our Mini Vinnies group is made up of KS2 children who work together to make a positive difference in our school, parish, and the wider community. Inspired by the Society of St Vincent de Paul, Mini Vinnies’ mission is to “turn concern into action.” As a group we see who needs help in the world, think about how we can help and then do something about it.
Over the year, Mini Vinnies have:
- Raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support through cake stalls and coffee mornings.
- Collected food donations for Harvest and other campaigns.
- Made Christmas cards for parishioners who may be lonely or unable to leave their homes.
- Supported families in Manchester through Advent during our Christmas fundraising campaign.
- Led school events such as Remembrance Day, the Jubilee Year of Hope, and St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
- Created posters for our Lenten Campaign to raise funds for Cafod.
- Sold poppies for the Royal British Legion and celebrated the relic of Saint Carlo Acutis with other schools.
- Mini Vinnies meet weekly after school to plan projects, explore ways to help those in need, and take action, showing compassion, service, and care for others. They also collaborate with our other school teams such as the Rights Respecting Team and the Echo Team to create joint initiatives that benefit the whole school community.
Rights Respecting Team
The rights-respecting team helps everyone live out the Gospel by treating each person with dignity, fairness, and kindness. Together, they make sure children’s voices are heard and respected, just as Jesus welcomed and cared for every child.
Eco Team
The Eco Team meets regularly to explore ways to care for the environment and the world around us. Pupils in the team are passionate about making a positive difference. Each month, the Eco Team chooses a pupil from the school to receive our Steward of the Month Award, celebrating their efforts to care for creation.
